Water baptism is considered an “ordinance” of the church. An ordinance is what we would call a command of the Lord that applies to all believers. 

Baptism at Belmont Assembly of God – Water baptism involves immersion in water. This means that in the act of baptism, you are immersed in water so that you are briefly and completely submerged in water. This is the biblical example and practice that Belmont Assembly of God follows. It is both a spiritual practice in that you are following the Lord’s example as an exercise of your faith in Him and it is a symbolic practice that represents a burial and resurrection to new life. Further, it is a public testimony of your faith in Christ and your identification with the community of believers.
